Ronaldo forced out of Milan meetings

Posted by aft123

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored four goals in his two UEFA Champions League matches for MadridReal Madrid CF midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to be out of action for a month after aggravating an ankle sprain in Portugal's 3-0 win against Hungary, ruling him out of both UEFA Champions League matches against AC Milan.

Prior complaint
The 24-year-old was suffering with an ankle complaint prior to the FIFA World Cup Group 1 qualifier in Lisbon and only lasted 27 minutes as Portugal moved second in the section. He returned to Spain for analysis of the injury and a Madrid statement read: "After a clinical examination and an MRI scan, it is confirmed the player has suffered a recurrence of his injury to his right ankle, a medial collateral sprain with inflammation in the bone. The estimated recovery time is three to four weeks."

Milan dates
Ronaldo will therefore be absent when Los Merengues take on Milan in two UEFA Champions League Group C matches, the first encounter set to take place in the Spanish capital on 21 October with the trip to Italy scheduled for 3 November. Madrid sit top of the section with a maximum six points while Milan are three points back in third spot.
