KARACHI: Both the Pakistan’s junior cueists crashed in the knockout stage of the IBSF World Under-21 Snooker Championship 2009 being staged in Keish Island, Iran.
According to the information made available by the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) on Tuesday, the reigning national junior champion Asjad Iqbal was toppled by Amir Sarkhoosh of Iran in the pre-quarter-finals and Hamza Akbar was knocked over by Ali N.K. Al Obaidly of Qatar in the last 32 encounter.
Amir Sarkhoosh overpowered Asjad Iqbal 5-3 with the frame scores of 65-57, 96-54, 60-61, 74-22, 32-66, 54-47, 21-77, 80-20 while Ali Obaidly also defeated Hamza Akbar 5-3 with the frame scores being 92-58, 29-56, 95-13, 93-15, 41-67, 52-54, 71-61, 63-45.
